Eventually some types begin to stand out from the crowd and even beginners can tell that these baits improve performance. The Cultiva Rock’n Bait Ring Twin Tail Tasty Worm at 1.5’’ is a little short of excellent.

This ringed / ribbed split ring tail lure, is one of the more popular LRF softies in the market. It vibrates and wobbles practically on its own, so even fishing on the drop is very productive as the lure is continuously working. On one hand it is a silicone lure of simplicity, on the other a very productive one, that requires a simple retrieve.

Light lure fishing experts, place significant importance on the bait’s On-the-Drop (OTD) performance, especially with certain fish species. On The Drop is simply the art of catching fish with lures by doing nothing, as the lure falls through the water column. And there is a reason why the Cultiva Ring Twin Tail works even without any motion induced by the tip of your rod. It is the design of the lure itself that triggers strikes from predatory fish, as it falls through the water, especially because the angler isn’t always in direct contact with the lure, or at least in a manner where action can be induced.

This is due to the very thin wrist in the tail and the oversized paddle. Combine both of these attributes in the right way and the lure will give off a highly attractive vibration as it sinks, even on a slow decent. So a soft bait that does not require many jerks, will stay longer in the strike zone, giving you more chances of success. This is not to say that fishing the Cultiva Ring Twin Tails with cast and retrieve styles isn’t effective. Quite the opposite.
